Frederic proposes that experiencing existence requires awareness - one could do it without thinking but not without awareness - and admits he cannot define awareness.
The Wonders offer a method: close the eyes and let the mind go; it will start thinking about activities, how-tos and situations, so let it think, and eventually there will be a momentary point of not thinking, at which the mind gets scared and returns to thinking.
Let it go again, and each time it reaches that point it goes a little deeper, further and broader, until on coming out of that meditation or quietude an awareness presents itself.
Frederic asks whether the return to thinking is due to fear, and describes his impression that meditating on the space between thoughts harmonizes the thought.
As the session ends the Wonders tell him to explore this and to pose his question before relaxing or going to sleep, saying he will be surprised what he receives.
In the post-session reflection the channel describes seeing Frederic in REM sleep, the eye movements repeatedly stopping for longer and longer intervals of complete silence with no thinking and nothing happening in the body, in which something could almost be seen but not grasped at first, becoming more solid each time until the mind could grasp that awareness and put it into a form it understood.
