Brexit and the future of the European Union

Asked whether the UK leaving the EU is good for it in the mid to long term, the Wonders describe the UK as always independent, never fully joined or participating, taking advantage of the best the EU offered - the 'teenage child' of the Union now choosing to leave its rules in order to forge its own domestic and international policies, to its credit.

It will not harm the UK.

Regarding the EU, they call it a fragile organization, noting Europe has never cooperated easily and that bureaucrats imposed rules on all members without regard for each one's values and benefits.

They give a good probability that the EU survives its own fragility, as the United States survived its own, but say the UK's departure has raised the idea that other members may go their separate ways if cooperation is not favorable, while a strong intent remains to maintain a financial union.
