Not caring about things any more, boredom as judgment, and observing the stress it creates

Frederic describes now often drawing a blank on subjects and asks whether this is resistance from the mind or simply no longer being concerned with things he used to care about.

The Wonders say part of it is his long habit of deciding things are not important, and reassure him that his mind is not getting less sharp - he is not losing his mind or becoming demented, and he should not attribute it to age.

He asks whether he should care about things he now finds himself not caring about; they answer only if he chooses to, noting he has learned over recent years to better command his mind and told it not to care, so it stopped caring, and now he is wondering whether he should.

Frederic says he simply cannot get involved at work, letting people talk what sounds to him like nonsense.

The Wonders name an intolerance for what his mind defines as stupidity, and point out that every person he finds stupid finds themselves interesting and fascinating, and cannot understand why he is not fascinated.

His options are to avoid such people, which is virtually impossible, or to become a good actor and pretend well.

When Frederic calls it increasingly boring, they identify 'boring' as his mind's judgment and therefore as stress - his mind is stressing whenever it finds people boring, and he does not notice because it presents as 'I don't care', when it takes stress even to say that.

They tell him to command his mind to observe the extent of stress being incorporated in itself and in the body as a result of that judgment of boredom, and predict he will be amazed by what he sees.

They add that when the mind is habituated to operating from a judgment it declares itself unstressed, having already absorbed the stress into itself and the body, and thereafter only registers a new judgment as stressful if it is greater than the one already held, otherwise calling it easy or boring.

The aim is to eliminate that, or at least to become aware of it and see how it affects the body, from which different choices can follow.

They note his wife is in the same position and his daughter is learning.

Frederic mentions having resumed Asimaya, which they say is very helpful for all three of them.
